Love Thy Neighbors…and Keep Thy Leaves!

Fall is officially making its way into Anatolia! With cooler mornings, changing colors, and breezy afternoons comes one seasonal guest we can all count on: leaves. Lots and lots of leaves.

As we move through this transitional season, we’re asking everyone to help keep Anatolia looking its best by regularly managing leaves and debris around their homes.

And a friendly neighbor-to-neighbor reminder: please don’t solve your leaf problem by making it someone else’s. Blowing or sweeping leaves into a neighbor’s yard, across the sidewalk, or down the street only relocates the cleanup.

Besides, this is 2026 — there are cameras everywhere. Most of our community has doorbell or security cameras these days, so don’t be that neighbor caught on video sending a pile of leaves next door!

Keeping leaves out of the street is also important for keeping our storm drains clear. As we prepare for the wetter winter months ahead, leaves and yard debris can quickly collect around drains, restrict water flow, and contribute to localized flooding during heavy rain. Keeping gutters, curbs, and drains free of debris is one simple way we can all help prepare the community for winter weather.

Rake them, bag them, compost them, or place them in the appropriate green waste container — just keep them on your side of the property line until they’re properly disposed of.
